American Idol Season 8 Winner - Kris Allen!!!

The result is out, and our American Idol Season 8 Winner is ------- KRIS ALLEN!!! OMG I'm so thrilled and happy with this result. For the past few years I had been a big fan of AI, but never a year did my favourite won this title before. (Season 7 David A, Season 6 Melinda Doolittle, Season 5 Elliot Yamin etc) So I had already thought that Kris will not win also, especially that his opponent - Adam, is predicted by almost everyone to be a lock for AI winner.
Nevertheless, I still took a day off just to watch the life telecast of AI final result show today. I was so nervous towards the end when the result was being announced, and almost scream with joy when Kris was announced the winner. =P
It has been a great season, many great and unique singers, many great songs. Now that it has come to an end, I'm already beginning to miss this show. There's nothing to look forward to next week, oh my......
Anyway, I have to congratulate Kris on his winning, I think he deserves the win! I believe he will have a bright future as a singer, I'm looking forward for his 1st album soon.

Yes, this is another week of solid performance by my favourite Kris, but ok I'm not so bias as to say he's the best of the night. Here is my ranking:

1. Adam - He is really amazing, great vocal and great technique, easily the best tonight(although I don't like him personally)
2. Allison - I like her cos she's unique, and gosh she's only 16yo!
3. Kris - It is fun and enjoyable, he choose the right song and he sings well, and he is extremely gorgeous!
4. Matt - Not a bad performance, nothing really exciting though
5. Anoop - Not bad vocally and technically, just that the song is abit too slow and makes u fall asleep
6. Danny - I always think that he is overrated, it's just an ok performance to me
7. Lil - She's a powerhouse, but she disappoints me by choosing the wrong song
8. Scott - His vocal and performance is ok, just fall short as compare to the rest
9. Michael - He looks abit tense and nervous, but I don't think he is that terrible as said by the judges, he just has to choose a song which is more suitable for him
10. Megan - OMG that is really really horrible, she just murdered this song. She is off pitch, off tempo, wrong arrangement, everything is wrong wrong wrong. She doesn't deserve to be in the Top 10.

American Idol Season 8 - Kris Allen

I have sort of lost abit of interest in Season 8 AI since my favourite - Ricky Braddy, didn't got in to the Final 13. But after 2 nights of Top 13 competition, I'm beginning to like another contestant more and more, and he is Kris Allen.

To me, he is humble, great attitude, nice vocal, and cute. His smile can kill. =)

This is his performance in tonight's top 11, he is singing "To Make You Feel My Love". He has great control of his voice, although the song itself is quite boring, he actually make it sounds nice, I am quite touch after hearing him sing.

Hope that he can go far in this competition. All the best Kris!!!

American Idol Season 8 - Final Top 13

Ok the reason why I posted this entry only now is that I still can't get over the fact that my favourite singer-Ricky Braddy didn't make it to the Top 13. He is obviously much better than most of the contestants who got in.

Anyway, the show must go on, after the wild card show, they decided that it should be Top 13 instead of 12, so here are your finalists:

Immediately after the Group 3 result was announced, the judges picked 8 contestants who had not been voted to the Top 12, to come back on a Wild Card Round (Revival Round) and fight for the final 3 seats in the Top 12.
The show will be Live tomorrow(our Friday morning) and the judges will have the complete say this time to pick the 3 worthy contestant to fill up the top 12 seats.

The 8 lucky contestants who got a second chance are:
1) Anoop Desai - Am happy that he got a second chance.
2) Jasmine Murray - I'm don't really agree with this. No doubt she is talented and has a great voice at her age, but she performed badly during Top 36, so her seats should be given to those who performed better and didn't get selected.
3) Jesse Langseth - No comment, I didn't remember her anyway......
4) Matt Giraud - Am happy that he got a second chance also.
5) Megan Joy Corkrey - She is unique, and she is pretty, that's all.
6) Ricky Braddy - Am so so so happy! He better got selected this time!
7) Tatiana Nicole Del Toro - WTF! This drama queen!!?? No way!!!!
8) Von Smith - Am happy that he got a second chance.

Ok, this list is basically fine with me as most of my favourite contestants are in, except for a few ridiculous choices. (They should have replace Tatiana with Ju'Not and Jasmine with Felicia) I'm hoping that Anoop, Ricky and either Von or Matt can be selected, and at this point of time they also seem to be the favourite.

The problem now is, so far the 9 choosen for top 12 consists of 6 males and only 3 females, so the judges may want to make the gender more even and decide to choose more females than males. If this really happen, I'll be really upset because all of my favourites are male! If I really have to choose only one male, then......it will be Ricky, because he can really sing well, and I seriously think that his performance during the Top 36 is by far the best. So let's pray hard that he will get in.

Sorry Anoop, though I really like you too......=(

Before the show starts, my favourite of this group were Lil Rounds, Scott Maclntyre and Von Smith. After the show, it proved that all 3 of them performed quite well, and based on the judges feedback Lil and Scott were almost a lock to make it to the Top 12. However, another singer also caught my attention, that is Jorge. He is from Puerto Rico and he speaks English with a funny ascent. But he can really sing very well, I especially love his voice which is so gentle and smoothing. So I was torned among 4 of these singers because only 3 can make it to the top 12.

The result shows on Wednesday revealed that the 3 who make it to top 12 are:

American Idol Season 8 - Top 36 Group 2

Group 2 performed 2 days ago and result was out yesterday. Before the result was announced I was really hoping that Kris Allen will make it to the top 12. He performed quite well that night, he has a very good attitude, he is likable and most importantly, he is CUTE!! But I was quite worried before the result show because he is another contestant who didn't have much coverage during the audition and Hollywood week. He doesn't have a huge fan base as compare to some other contestants.
So I am really really glad that he was voted into top 12! Well done America!!!

I am happy with this result because they are indeed the best 3 performers during that night. Apart from this, I also hope that Matt Giraud gets a chance in the Wildcard week. I was having a mix feeling with the result. There're actually quite a few of my favourites in this group, so it's kind of difficult for me to choose, but base on the performance on that night, I have to say the 3 who should go through are Alexis, Danny and Ricky. It is unfortunate that Ricky didn't go through, mainly because he had almost zero airtime during audition and Hollywood week, so audiences are not familiar with him, as compare to Michael. Anyway, I really really hope that he has a chance during the wildcard week cos seriously I think he is the best during that night's performance.
I also hope that Anoop gets a 2nd chance at the wildcard week, he is unique and he can actually sing quite well. Anyway, I think his chance of getting through is high because he has a huge, huge fanbase behind him.

I have been a fan of AI since Season 1, so am excited again that Season 8 starts airing few weeks ago. This Season's format is a little bit different from previous seasons, they choose a total of Top 36 semifinalists, and divide them into 3 groups of 12 to perform every week. Each week the male, female, and the next top vote getter with the highest number of votes will make it into the top 12. The remaining 3 seats in the top 12 will be choosen by judges at the Wildcard round among those who were eliminated.

At the moment of posting, we had already seen the first 3 contestants who advanced to the final top 12, the second 3 contestants result will be out tomorrow, and I'm really hoping that my favourites will get to advance to final tomorrow, finger cross......

刚看了“海角七号”，个人觉得是蛮不错的一部片子，很简单，朴实的道出了几段感人的爱情故事。戏里最让我感动的，是那日本男孩写给女孩的情信。信里字字句句都充满了他对她无限的思念和爱，真的太感人了。

忽然想起了这首歌。。。。。

谢谢你陪我看了这部温心，感人的戏。

I simply love this movie! It's so much better than 'The Bangkok Love Story" because the love between these 2 boys is so clean, innocent and pure. At the end of the movie I just cannot help but cried with the boys.

Brilliantly conceived, The Love of Siam is a very different film in many respects. Most notably different is the length. At two and a half hours, it抯 almost twice as long as most films in cinemas these days.

But there抯 nothing wrong with a long film, as long as it抯 something worth looking at, and The Love of Siam is most certainly that. The length means that most of the characters in this contemporary Bangkok drama are well developed, which is something else that sets this film apart from others.

Equal parts family drama and teen romance, the aspect that has people talking is a gay love story, albeit a squeaky clean one, full of the wild-eyed innocence of teenage puppy love. It just happens these pups are boys.

And, with a Catholic family at its centre, The Love of Siam is probably the first Thai Christmas movie, and was actually filmed nearly a year ago, to capture the actual lights and sounds of the festive season around Siam Square.

The Love of Siam is also a different kind of film for 26-year-old writer-director Matthew Chookiat Sakveerakul, who last year directed the mind-bendingly awesome (and gory) thriller 13 Beloved, and previously did the socially conscious ghost story Pisaj.

The tender friendship of the two boys, Tong and Mew, is established in a lengthy prologue. Tragedy strikes the family of Tong, when his older sister (Chermarn Boonyasak) disappears while on a northern trek. The loss drives a wedge between Tong抯 mother (a relevatory Sinjai Plengpanich) and father (Songsit Rungnopakunsri), as the father turns to alcohol to drown his grief. Tong and his family then move away, leaving Tong抯 friend, the musically gifted Mew, all alone.

Sparks fly when the boys are reunited in their university years, while hanging around in Siam Square. Mew (Witwisit Hirunwongkul) is the singer and songwriter for an up-and-coming pop band, and Tong (Mario Maurer) is dating a pretty girl named Donut (Aticha Pongsilpipat), whom he抯 not really interested in.

Their reconnection takes on even more meaning when Mew抯 band is assigned a manager, June. Also played by Chermarn Boonyasak (the ghost from Buppa Rahtree), June is a dead ringer for the long-lost sister Tang. Maybe she can draw Tong抯 dad out of his drunken stupor? This bit of soap opera contrivance is handled so straightforwardly and beautifully, with subtle comic touches, that it seems natural.

Mew, meanwhile is struggling to write new songs, until he digs into his heart and comes up with a hit that is inspired by feelings for Tong that have been nurtured since boyhood.

Everyone it seems is rooting for these two boys to smooch and snuggle ?the press preview audience was enthusiastically supportive. But Tong抯 mum is devastated, wondering what she did to deserve the fate of a missing daughter, an alcoholic husband and now, a gay son.

The girls have less prominent roles than the film posters might lead audiences to believe. But a neighbour girl, Ling (Kanya Rattanapetch), is more central than the haughty Donut. Ling has a crush on Mew, helps Tong sort out his confused feelings.
The Love of Siam comes to a heartfelt and poignant conclusion on Christmas Eve, when Mew抯 band is playing a concert in the Siam Centre courtyard. The gift, though, is one of heartache and tears.

As many have expected, Luke Menard was voted off last week. It was sad for me to see him got voted off, although I must admit that he is not as strong in terms of vocal as the other contestants.
But I surely hope that Hollywood will be able to accept him as an actor, cos he's really very very gorgeous. I can't wait to see him appear on big screen.

American Idol - The Luke Force

I have been an American Idol fan since season 1. This year - Season 7 began last week, and like past seasons, I had already chosen my favourite contestant.
This year it's - LUKE MENARD. Ok I have to admit that he is not the strongest vocally and so far his song selection is kind of bad. But who cares! I just like him because of his look. He actually look kind of like Orlando Bloom or Hugh Jackman, so drop-dead gorgeous and handsome. And he has a good attitude too.

Here is his rendition of Queen's 'Killer Queen'. He sang it this week during top 10 guys. I'm crossing my fingers that he will not get voted off so fast.
